Margaret Smith Research
I have been researching primarily American records for over the last 25 years, 15 of those as a professional. I served as a missionary at the Layton FamilySearch Center from 2016-2018; developing and teaching a variety of classes as well as working one-on-one with patrons to develop a personalized research plan and find their ancestors. I have been published in the Genealogical Journal (now published as Crossroads).
In my case, our family tradition was true-I am part Southern Arapaho as well as Dutch, Irish, English and French. My ancestors blazed a trail from east to west across the United States.
I am located near the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as several university libraries. I have access to multiple online databases including but not limited to: Ancestry, Fold3, Newspapers.com, American Ancestors, FamilySearch, FindMyPast, NewspaperArchives.com.
I am a member of the following organizations:
Association of Professional Genealogists
Utah Genealogical Association
New England Historic Genealogical Society
New York Biographical and Genealogical Society
